We currently have immediate openings for part-time/school year School Bus/Van Monitors! 

This is an ideal part-time opportunity for retirees, stay-at-home parents, self-employed individuals, and people looking for extra income.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • At least 23 years old
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License with a clean record
  • Pass Drug Test, BAT Test, Physical Exam & Criminal Background Check

JOB TITLE: School Bus/Van Monitor
DEPARTMENT: Operations
 
 
 
GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Responsible for monitoring children with disabilities or special needs as they are transported to and from school.  Act as a representative of the company while on duty.
 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Must be able to understand and relate to children with special needs.
  • Monitor and assist students while vehicle is in operation.
  • Greet students in a friendly and professional manner; create a pleasant environment for the students during their ride.
  • Assist driver in assuring seat belts are secured as required.
  • Assist parents and school personnel with safe loading and unloading of students.
  • Communicate with school and parents concerning students medical problems and behavior as appropriate.
  • Assist handicapped children on and off of vehicle.
  • Escort children to door upon returning home.  Assure responsible adult meets students at door.
  • Attend in-service meetings and training courses as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
 
 
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education and/or Experience:  High school diploma or GED is required.  
     
  • Skills: 
    • Certifications - Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License.
    • Language - Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.  Ability to effectively respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public.  Ability to communicate in a professional manner.
    • Reasoning - Ability to deal with a various situations which may arise. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
    • Other Skills - Ability to remain calm and patient when dealing with difficult students.
